EUPT-SRM3 - Announcement

Dear Colleagues,

We would like to invite you to participate in the upcoming European Proficiency Test for pesticides using single residue methods (EUPT-SRM3) organised by the CRL for single residue methods (eurl-SRM) in collaboration with the CRL for fruits and vegetables (CRL-FV).

The aim of the test remains to provide laboratories with an assessment, both of their analytical performance and the reliability of their data - in comparison to other laboratories. This will hopefully result in positive changes and quality improvements at each of the laboratories.

Participation is mandatory for all appointed national reference laboratories (NRLs) in the field of single residue methods, but also strongly recommended for all other official laboratories participating in the EU-coordinated monitoring program.

As in the previous tests the results will be treated individually for each compound without any summed evaluation/ranking of the overall lab performance.

This year the test material is a carrot matrix. As usual, you will receive approximately 300 g of treated sample and 300 g of a "blank" sample. Based on the list of possible pesticides and the possibilities you may have to scale down your procedures, please indicate if you need more test material.

According to our expected calendar for the EUPT-SRM3 please expect sample delivery in the second week of June 2008. We will endeavour to make sure that the shipment arrives in a good frozen state. If any laboratories have holidays during the period of delivery please inform us so that we can rearrange sample shipment.

The deadline for applications of participation in EUPT-SRM3 is the 8th of April 2008. For this, please use the EUPT-SRM3 online-application form.

Do feel free to give us whatever comments you might have which may be of help to you and the other participants
(Contact).
