EURL Workshop 2012 - Post workshop Tours

TRIP 1: Half Day Jeep Tour to Troodos area:

The first part of this tour takes us to Kouris, the biggest dam in Cyprus, which is an important water project, with a capacity of 118 millions m3 of water.
Continuing the tour, we reach Lofou village, which is built over hills like an amphitheatre, at an altitude of about 800 meters. The village of Lofou Cyprus has withstood the test of time. Walking its maze of narrow cobbled stone streets and viewing the old stone buildings brings you back to a mostly forgotten glorious time. As you walk the streets, you quickly discover that not a single one is level - they either go upwards or downwards. No street is straight, each turn is an adventure in discovery. You can not see what lies ahead beyond the next bend in the road, making your walk most enjoyable.
Then we drive through Pera Pedi Village and the very scenic off road route in Mesa Patamos mountain area arriving at a nearby nice small waterfall.
Then we visit one of the traditional wineries of the area, where we have the opportunity to taste the village wine. On the way back to pier we make a short stop at a Home Industry, producing "glyko" (sweets from fruits and vegetables), marmalades, "soutzouko" (made out of grape juice, flour and almond nuts). We have the opportunity to taste some of the products. Finally we drive back to the hotel.

TRIP 2: Full Day Jeep Tour to Akamas:

This is a day of adventure never to forget, taking in the magical surroundings of the Akamas Peninsula with its lush foliage, unique fauna and flora and a variety of rare birds.
Our first stop is at Avakas Gorge, which is well known for its 30 meter high limestone walls. Rich vegetation and fresh springs create an atmosphere that will put us in a positive mood for the rest of the day.
Our next focal point is Lara Bay, widely known as the breeding ground in the Mediterranean of the greenback turtle. The tour will continue along the rugged coastal road through the peninsula where we will be overwhelmed by the timeless charm and tranquility of the whole area.
After lunch, we continue up to the northwest peninsula, to the coastal beauty of Chrysochou Bay, to enjoy the experience of timelessness as we bath in the tranquil waters. Our tour in this region would not be complete without a visit to the legendary Baths of Aphrodite. Leaving all this behind we continue our journey by passing through the picturesque fishing port of Latsi and the popular resort of Polis. A drive through quaint traditional villages and greenery will brings us to the Hotel.
