Overview  

Dear Colleagues,

We would like to announce the first European Proficiency Test for Pesticide Residues in baby food (EUPT-FV-BF01, Peach Baby Food), organised by the European Union Reference Laboratory for Residues of Pesticides in Fruits and Vegetables on behalf of the European Commission, Health and Food Safety Directorate-General (DG-SANTE).

This EUPT-FV-BF01 is directed at all National Reference Laboratories (NRLs) and all Official Laboratories (OfLs) in the EU Member States. Laboratories outside this EURL/NRL/OfL-Network may be allowed to participate on a case-by-case basis. Participation in this intercomparative study remains on a voluntary basis. Given the limited material available, the registration forms will be accepted on a first come first served basis.

The test item, 200 g of peach baby food containing pesticide residues will be shipped to participants on 7thNovember 2016 (If any laboratory has holidays in the week of the shipment, please inform the organizer to rearrange the shipment).

The laboratories have to determine the residue levels and report the concentrations for each of the pesticides that they detect. The participants can download the Target pesticide List clicking here: Target List (excel file)  Target list in pdf

This list of target pesticides also contains the Minimum Required Reporting Level (MRRL) for each pesticide, please be aware that some MRRLs are lower than the general 0.01 mg/kg.

The timetable for this proficiency test is (please note that the Calendar may be subject to minor changes):

Deadline for receiving Application Form from laboratories. 3th October 2016
Sample distribution 7th November 2016
Deadline for receiving results 28th November 2016
Preliminary Report: only results, no statistical treatment 5th December 2016
Preliminary Report with statistical treatment 19th December 2016
Final Report February 2017

 

The sample delivery will be 200 € for EU NRLs and EU OfLs and 270 € for other countries. As regards the payment procedures, each laboratory can specify their details and invoice requests when applying for the test. 

Please, do not pay for this EUPT until we send you the invoice.

Remember to include your Laboratory Code in the subject of the bank transfer.
